SCILOGEX SuperPette 10–100 µL Review: Adjustable Volume Beside Microscopy

Shortlist the SCILOGEX SuperPette 10–100 µL if your laboratory or teaching bench needs adjustable small-volume dispensing while keeping an existing microscope. Model 714510089999 combines a volume setting, lock and central readout; it is a single-channel pipettor, not a microscope kit or a multi-pipettor starter set.[1] Its buying case is control over a chosen dispensing range—not a promise that buying a pipettor alone makes every preparation accurate.

Supplier image via SCILOGEX’s listing: the pictured body is marked 2–20 µL, not this review’s 10–100 µL model. The inset is a readout close-up, not a second included pipettor.

A different purchase from basic transfer supplies

If your task is simply moving liquid into a container, an adjustable pipettor may add maintenance and consumable decisions you do not need. Consider this one when selecting and retaining a particular small-volume setting matters to the work. SCILOGEX identifies the exact 714510089999 model as 10–100 µL, and the Amazon listing carries that same item-model number.[1][3] Do not extend its range below 10 µL or above 100 µL because another SuperPette appears on the family page.

This preserves a microscope that already does the observation job. A dispensing instrument does not change objectives, illumination, camera capability or slide positioning. Treat it as a preparation-bench purchase only when dispensing is the missing function, rather than replacing useful optics to obtain a package of supplies.

The setting, lock and readout

The maker documents one-handed volume adjustment and volume lock, plus a centrally located display for left- and right-handed users.[1] The brochure illustrates a top adjustment/lock arrangement and a numerical volume window.[2] Those features give you a way to select, hold and read a setting; the window is not a measurement of what actually reached a specimen.

“Digital” needs care here. The brochure uses that word for the display and describes piston movement; it does not establish a motorized or battery-powered drive.[2] Do not buy this offer expecting an electronic pipettor with automated dispensing programs. Likewise, the maker’s ergonomic language is not evidence that it will reduce your hand strain in a particular workload.

Range and technique still matter

SCILOGEX documents forward and reverse pipetting as supported approaches.[1] That is useful context when assessing whether the instrument matches a laboratory’s established liquid-handling method, not proof of equal results with every liquid or tip. This review does not prescribe a dispensing sequence or a biological protocol.

Choose the range around the volumes your work actually needs. If your routine values fall outside 10–100 µL, select a documented different range rather than treating the family name as permission to stretch this model. For work dependent on a narrow error bound, use the applicable calibration and verification process; a selected setting alone does not prove delivered volume, precision or repeatability.

The individual pipettor is not a starter kit

The exact offer is for model 714510089999. SCILOGEX separately lists SuperPette starter sets with four pipettors and either a linear or carousel stand.[1][3] Do not transfer those other ranges or the stand into this individual offer’s package.

Disposable tips are a separate purchasing question: the maker page does not confirm an included quantity for this individual unit. Its universal-tip sentence also contains the anomalous wording “up to 1000 mL.”[1] That printed unit is not a reliable size or fit guarantee for this 10–100 µL model. Check the supported tip system and the actual package before budgeting a complete bench setup, especially if retaining an existing tip inventory is the reason for choosing it. No supplied tips, stand or multi-pipettor bundle is promised here.

Calibration and maintenance documentation

SCILOGEX says the instrument is built with a calibration tool and that an ISO calibration certificate comes with each pipettor.[1] These are maker-described support features, not an independently inspected certificate or calibration result for the offered unit. Keep the unit’s documentation with the bench’s verification records when the work requires it.

The maker also calls the SuperPette fully autoclavable and UV/chemical resistant.[1] That does not establish an appropriate sterilization cycle or compatibility with every chemical. Obtain applicable operating and maintenance instructions before relying on those features; no cycle, servicing procedure or post-treatment performance guarantee is supplied by this review.

Verdict

Consider this exact 10–100 µL SuperPette for a trained laboratory or teaching buyer who needs an adjustable setting, lock and central readout beside an already suitable microscope. Skip it if basic transfer supplies suffice, your volumes lie outside its range, or you need an electronic drive or complete supplied-tip starter kit. For tip-fit-dependent or sterilization-dependent purchasing, settle those documentation questions first. This is a source-backed buying judgment, not hands-on testing, proof of achieved precision, or a medical or clinical recommendation.
