Hello my valued readers!
I just wanted to let you know that I’ve been busy the past few days putting together a new section of the site to help out those new to microscopy in getting started.
I know it can be overwhelming, but educating yourself on the world of the microscope is the absolute best way to be sure you know what you are getting yourself into, and what you need to purchase for your needs.
At the top of the page, you can now find a Microscope Basics section that goes over a number of basic concepts such as how a microscope works, and what kind of microscope can view what kinds of samples. This still has a little construction to go for the specific microscope kinds I define, but it will be done as soon as possible, with recommendations of each kind of microscope to make life easier for you.
Next to that, I’ve also added a glossary of microscopy terms to help you understand what I’m talking about if I go off on a scientific rant and forget to break it down to plain English for you. It’s quite extensive, and as I discover more terms that aren’t common knowledge, I’ll be sure to add them.
Both sections are filled to the gills with great information to get you started with microscopes, so check out Microscope Basics if you want to learn about the units, or the Glossary of Terms to get started with the basic building blocks to understanding microscopy.
As always, please send me a message or leave me a comment if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I love hearing from each and every one of you! If you have any ideas to add to our Microscope Basics section, I’d be happy to consider all requests!
