Hello! Thanks for stopping by!
We at MicroscopeGenius.com have been around microscopes for many years now, and can understand how difficult and challenging it is to pick out an economic unit that still has great quality. Not everyone has the coin to spend on a big Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss, or Leica unit, while getting quality and service you deserve at the more economical price points can become a battle of purchase-return-repeat until you’re satisfied or exhausted. We’re here to make that easier for you.
We spend most of our time here going over the lesser known name brands on the market, as everyone touts themselves as the best thing since sliced bread–but how do you really know what you’re getting yourself into? It’s difficult, and very expensive, to step out there, place an order, and take a chance. We aren’t made of money either, but we do have the patience and love for the industry, so it brings us great joy to help spread our experiences with everyone else.
If you have any request for reviews, tips, tricks, or want to ask a question, ask away! You can message us through our contact page, by leaving a comment on any post, or directly at info@microscopegenius.com.
If you’re completely new to microscopes and want to learn a bit before checking out the reviews, head over to our Microscope Basics library, which will take you from microscope beginner to microscope expert in no time at all!
Objectivity Disclaimer:
All reviews posted here are for the intent of offering our personal experiences with the products being recommended (or not recommended), and are objective and honest opinions. We am not endorsed, sponsored, or compensated directly by any microscope brand for our reviews, nor are the products reviewed here sent to us for perks to review them (such as keeping the items, discounts, or other incentives).
Should any products be sent to us for review, they are done so with no promise for a positive review, and with no strings attached. Our reviews remain honest and unbiased in this way, and the item returned or purchased in full after completion of the review, so as to help ensure that everything you read here is solely of benefit to you as a valued reader.
Update 10/14/15 – We are also now partnering with select microscope manufacturers and suppliers to become a dealer of their microscopes and accessories!
Please note that while we will be selling these items and providing support for them, this new endeavor will not affect the objectivity of our posted reviews. We still strive to be the light in the dark to help guide you towards an appropriate microscope for your needs, and as such, will only be listing products that we have our full confidence in.
MicroscopeGenius.com, as always, strives to do the hard work and research for you, so that you can be certain that we are getting your needs fulfilled right the first time, every time.

I frequently use a Carl Zeiss microscope at home. I also take a great number of pictures of mushrooms. My camera is a Canon G12.
Would you tell me which model of adaptor I should use to fit this camera on the microscope in order to keep my observations on my computer.
Fernandth
Hello Fernand! My apologies for the late reply–I have just been swamped with real life lately. What kind of camera mount or port does your Carl Zeiss microscope have? Which adapter you get would be determined by what fits your microscope.
I bought the OMAX 40X-2000X Digital Lab LED Binocular Compound Microscope with Built-in 1.3MP USB Camera and Double Layer Mechanical Stage on March 17th, 2013. I have been delighted with this microscope, but now the LED light has stopped working properly. It only produces dim light now. Can I purchase a replacement light from you? Thanks Scott
Hello Scott, I’m very sorry for the late reply. Things have just been utterly hectic over here. Unfortunately, I don’t sell any parts or equipment. I would recommend speaking with MicroscopeNet.com in regards to that, or speak to whoever sold you the equipment as you will likely have a warranty with them. My apologies that this occurred to you!
